This year has shaped up to be a big one for the World Poker Tour in Asia-Pacific with numbers through the roof and records set. For its final Season XX celebration in the region, the globally renowned brand lights up Taiwan with an 11-day Prime series. This is the country’s first look at the new game-lineup which is currently underway at the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association (CTP Club) in Taipei City. WPT Prime Taiwan kicked off on November 11 and runs through November 21.
Highlighting the festival is the Main Event which comes loaded with a NT$ 10,000,000 (~$323,320) guarantee. Gauging by the festival turnout these past days, with players from Japan, Korea, and Hong Kong adding to the vibrant crowd of locals, this figure has the potential to be breached early on. The Main Event takes the floor from November 17 to 21. Three entry days are available. Buy in is NT$ 33,000 (~$1,067).
One thing to get very excited about is along with a fat cash prize for the champion is a seat worth $10,400 to the WPT World Championships $15M guaranteed which can be used either at this year’s festival in December or at the following one in 2023. WPT value adds airfare and accommodations.
