The World Poker Championship games at Grand Loyal Poker Club, Hanoi has packed in undeniable success through its first half, with its festival’s generated prize pools cruising way above its advertised guarantees. Record turnouts and massive fields are among the two things that have been consistent all throughout the past five days. With the awaited Main Event finally in action, more players have begun to pour in, ready to take on the battlefield and claim their share of the juicy prize pools.
A total of four starting flights are set to complete for the ongoing VN₫ 8 Billion guaranteed Main Event, open through Thursday, September 22nd. Today’s Main Event first qualifier played down to 12.5% of the field with 23 players making it through to Day 2 and already guaranteed a minimum payout. Denmark’s Michael Kim Falcon piled a humongous stack early on and dominated the tables with his unending aggression. A frequent runner across the Asian circuit, Falcon racked up over 200 big blinds by the last five tables and managed to hold onto his lead all through to the end.
