The first U Series of Poker Vietnam MAIN EVENT starts today with many big names already onsite or making their way to Hanoi. The buzz is, the USOP will attempt to surpass its inaugural turnout of 1,043 entries and it has the potential to do so with players filling host venue Crown Poker Club since the festival started.
Among those seen battling it out at the early side events were David Erquiaga, Nevan Chang, Zong Chi He, Anton Lu, Vincent Li, Max Menzel, Brendon Rubie, Roland Kivi, joined by local stars Huu Dung Nguyen, Vu Thai Bao, Bao Pham, and Triton champion Dao Minh Phu. Japanese popstar GACKT also confirmed his attendance in an exclusive interview with Somuchpoker.
No doubt the player everyone will be eyeing is Filipino Edwin Dela Cruz who won the first USOP live series Main Event in Taiwan last February. Dela Cruz has been getting in some early practice but so far has found little luck.
