Poker Dream Vietnam: Main Event shatters guarantee, sets new record of ₫17.9 Billion

Poker Dream‘s inaugural Vietnam series is now the richest poker event ever staged in the country. Kicking off on October 14 in Hoi An, at the Grand Hall of Hoiana Hotel & Suites, it broke the US$ 1 Million dollar marker on Day 5, and was on pace to set even greater heights with the headliner yet to come.

On October 20, the Main Event take center stage, and after three starting days, it drew 822 entries for a record breaking prize pool of ₫17,940,150,000 (~$731,350). This is now the largest Main Event pot ever amassed in Vietnam, beating the previous record set last month behind by ₫100M+.

A total of 192 players advanced and will return on Saturday, October 22 for the next stage of the race.

Leading the charge is Day 1A frontrunner, Korea’s Hojin Kim, trailed by Day 1B leader Vietnam’s Phan Thanh Hung by just on 500 chip. Both players will bring in stacks over 100 BB into Day 2. You can read up on the action via the Live Updates.
