Man U seeking to sign Wout Weghorst after Ronaldo Departure

On Friday, January 13th, 2023 sources close to the Manchester United football club stated that Man U is getting close to signing the 30 – year – old striker from the Netherlands, Wout Weghorst, after Cristiano Ronaldo left the Manchester United football club recently.

Media Statement from Erik ten Hag

“I think we are close … he won’t be available for tomorrow,” the manager of the Manchester United football club, Erik ten Hag, mentioned at a news conference with the major sports media out lets on Friday, January 13th, 2023.

Cristiano Ronaldo leaves Manchester United for a New Club Team

Weghorst, who was already previously on loan from Burnley to the Turkish club Besiktas, seemed to appear as a stunning replacement for Ronaldo. The football great in Ronaldo had his contract terminated by Manchester United back in November following his very controversial and hotheaded interview with Piers Morgan in which he criticized the Manchester United manager in Erik Ten Hag as well as the football club’s owners.

Ever since Cristiano Ronaldo has left Manchester United, he has signed with the Saudi Arabian football club, Al Nassr.

Ten Hag has been looking to bring in a solid forward more specifically a striker to jump start his team’s offensive attack for the Champions League qualification, and he is in heavy pursuit of winning a trophy during his 1st – season in charge as the manager of Manchester United.

After Ronaldo left Manchester United with only 2 – senior strikers left in Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford they have no other choice but to sign other younger more aggressive strikers.

Wout Weghorst

Weghorst recently played for the Netherlands during the recently decided 2022 World Cuphttps://www.casinonewsdaily.com/2023/01/05/the-2026-fifa-world-cup-to-expand-to-from-32-to-48-teams-opens-up-the-playing-field/ in Qatar, and he scored 2 – goals in his nation’s dramatic quarterfinal match versus Argentina. Wout scored two times deep into match play to send the contest into extra time and eventually penalty kicks prior to Argentina winning 4 to 3 during a shootout that was necessary to decide the game.

Weghorst has scored a total of 8 – goals for Besiktas this season that included 2 – goals throughout his last previous 3 – games.

Wout joined Burnley on a $15 million agreement from the German club Wolfsburg in January of 2022, and he managed to score only 2 – goals over the course of 20 – appearances as Burnley was relegated from the English Premier League.

Manchester United was coincided with a move for Cody Gakpo earlier this month, but the Netherlands striker instead decided to join their rival in Liverpool.

Erik ten Hag is anticipated to move for a long – term replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo during the upcoming months of this summer, with Harry Kane linked as among the possible players to replace Ronaldo at the forefront of Manchester United’s offensive attack.

The Manchester United midfielder, Donny van de Beek, has now finally been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to his nagging knee injury.
