Bustling day at the Crown Poker Club in Ha Noi, Vietnam with poker players crowding the tables for the ₫2.5 Billion guaranteed WPTC Series Opener. Kicking off the festivities was Day 1B which found a hefty 153 entries, followed in the afternoon by Day 1C with 119 pulling up seats. Combined with the 51 entries of Day 1A, the event drew 323 total entries with 40 players advancing to the final day.
Among the day’s attendees were local aces Nguyen Quang Minh, Cao Ngoc Anh, and newly crowned Poker Dream Vietnam Main Event champion Minh Anh Nguyen. The two heats closed with Huỳnh Ngọc Cường bagging the overall top spot at Day 1B. Other notable players also high in the count were Hong Kong pro Raiden Kan (303,000) and Day 1A chip leader Trent Fechter (265,000).

The hunt continues on Sunday, October 30 at 10:30am. Everyone is guaranteed a minimum payout of ₫14,000,000 (~$560) however the goal is to claim the title and the ₫550,000,000 (~$22,140) first prize. Make sure to watch the action via the livestream on the CPC facebook page.
While the Series Opener seeks its champion, the next guaranteed event joins the floor. The Mystery Bounty ₫1.5 Billion will see two flights running throughout the day. Flight A gets rolling at 11am with blinds increasing every 30 minutes. Flight B follows at 4pm with blinds increasing at a slightly faster 25 minutes. Buy in is ₫11,000,000 (~$445). Registration closes at the start of Level 11.
